Default Amp keeps killing my battery!!

Ever since I installed my 300w amp (I was temporarily using my 600w amp with the gain turned down until I got my new one) it kills my battery every day and I have to get the jumpbox and your battery can only take so many recharges. I don't understand why or how it would be because the amp turns off when the car is off from remote turnon and i've checked to make sure the amp LED isn't light up when the car is off! Can an amp take juice like that for no reason?

Unless the amp is staying on I really dont think it can be draining the battery? I am not 100% sure but almost. Now do you have a cap?? That could be doing it. Or maybe it is just time for a new battery???

Yeah what I did was I just charged it up and now I took off the positive terminal tomorrow im going to put it back on and if it dosent start its the battery -crosses fingers- because I don't feel like dealing with electrical problems like this because it could be ANYTHING ugh. But the battery does look old and the terminals are corroded SP? to hell and the car sat for a couple months before I bought it and maybe with the amps it just finally went?
Oh and no cap just a 300w amp

Welp I think you just answered your own question lol. If the battery is all corrodded then I am sure it is that.

I just talked to my friend he said shorts can do this, and it could very well be possible there is bare wire showing because temporarily (Until it gets warm) im running it up through the fender/door area until I drill a hole through the firewall. But I always assumed if you had a short it'd set off the fuseable link but he said it willl sometimes just suck the juice not overpowering the circuit.

does your car run fine if you don't connect the amp lead to the battery terminal? sometimes batteries just die. happened to my sc when i came back from break. i have a 400 watt amp and i've never had problems with it draining my car.
