Hey guys I'm in the process of installing a sub/amp into my IS300 (stock head unit using line output converter) and was wondering if anyone had an amp kill switch to turn the amp off in case your sick of all that bass and just wanna listen to ur stock system?
Would it be just a regular switch from like pep boys or do I need something special?
Would the switch just be located on the lead wire?
If you want to prevent your amp from turning on, you can install any flavor of a SPST switch in your amp's remote turn-on lead. You can hide it under your dash or in your trunk, etc. I have used this trick for years to prevent my amps from turning on when I valet my car, so that the boneheads don't blow my system (re: Ferris Bueller's Day Off).

Whats an SPST switch? One of those you find like at pepboys? Got a link to a sample one? Thanks.
SPST = single pole, single throw. It is the most basic of switches. Yeah, Pep Boys will have them. You can use just about anything for this application, get one with a physical format that makes sense for where you plan on mounting it.
