This isn't a very informed opinion, I don't change speakers very much. Percy put a Dynaudio monkey on my back and I'm addicted. It hurts so good.

Now subs are a different issue.

If the Bostons suit your system goal, then more power to you.

I am waiting on my CDT EuroSports to be returned by CDT (I am having the tweeters mounted on the mids and adding their Upstage system which is another set of tweeters with separate crossovers) and hope to get them installed by the end of next week. I had these speakers in another car for two years and I couldn't be happier.

I truly believe that proper installation is MUCH more important than the actual speaker.

Now if all installations were equally as good to excellent, then the real question is who would the "best" speaker be?

Strangely enough, most companies won't provide distortion numbers in a controlled enviroment.

The great speaker debate. Some of the best speakers I have heard are the Focal Utopias, Boston Z6, Rainbows and believe it or not, my Kicker SS65s. The Kickers will be going into my recently purchased SC400 and I can't wait to hear them. The tweeters remind me of the old school A/D/S 1.5" units from back in the day. Of course speaker choice means nothing if its not installed in a quality enclosure or 'pod' that is imaged appropriately. Stock locations are the death of any speaker.

Not a fan of MBquart. In fact, I would sooner get the Alpine Type R over any MBQ set-up.

I was Googling the speakers you guys were listing off and one of the first pics for the Macrom line was from a Japanese site with the EXTs installed in a GS!

there's probably some other brands worth mentioning, but i can't remember.

Also don't forget to take into account that the installation is just as important, if not more.
Anyone know what year DEI bought out ADS?

I'm not totally sure when but to identify the DEI version, look for the "made in China" (or Taiwan can't remember) on the package.

Don't quote me on this but I think it was around 1999/2000.
