Default Rewiring a System in the SC400

Well.. Im about to embark on the week long journey to clean out my audio system. I have the head unit. Deciding on a 2Ch amp to power front components and a sub. Question is, how hard is it to rewire the whole system? Also, what gauge is suggested for just normal speaker wiring?

If you are putting down whole new wiring independent from your current stock wiring (recomended) it is not hard...just time consuming. You can use anything from 16-28 gauge on your speaker wires.

Reweiring the system is not hard really. If I were you, i would use the factory wiring that runs from the front door speakers to the amp in the trunk. If you try to go in and run new wire to your door speakers, I wish you luck because you have to figure out a way to get it ran into the doors and all. Much better to take advantage of whats already there. Just clip the speaker wire before it reaches the factory amp or you can tap into it. Then run your new wire from the facotry wire to your amp. It is somewhat difficult to get 4gauge power wire through your rire wall. There is 1 or 2 places where you can pull it through where a bunch of other wires come through your firewall under the steering wheel. ( I can tell you exactly what I did if needed) running RCAS to the back from your headunit is simple. I would recommend you take out your back seats so that you have easy accesability to get the wires ran into the trunk. If you don't remove the seats, have fun trying to get your wire to the trunk!!! If you need any more help shoot me an email a piratebaseball8@hotmail.com

Defintely pull the back seats., and also the trunk . You need a 10 and 12 mm and a screwdriver. I am slow and had the back seats and trunk down to metal in 15 minutes.
