I know that in order for an aftermarket HU to fit in any SC there either needs to be a lot of custom fabrication or you would need to purchase the piece from Importtoys.com that you cut and fit the HU in. The only problem is that the Importtoys site is under construction and has been for as long as I have been looking at getting an SC. So now my question is, is there anyone else that makes this piece. I know I have looked for mounting kits that you would get from say Circuit City or Best Buy and I have never found one for an SC. I found one for the IS which looks like it would come extremely close but I have not heard anything yet. Anyone have any info to help me out???

Actually you would only need a pocket kit, if you have a single din, it covers the second din. The unit screw on the sides, which are more secure and harder to steal. Knock on wood. But for the half din that remains, I would buy some plastic piece and find a way to attach it or add components in there (turbo timer, GCC, or whatever you desire). Actually I recently saw a half din DVD player, I think it was at Frys Electronics. Might also be available at other retailer.

I used my old pocket kit from an Infiniti I30, fits.

 

Do you have a pic of how yours turned out??? If I decide to go Mobile Theater again maybe I can use the Clarion 1/2 center channel in there.
