I think we should sticky this one, and try to make this happen for less than 1,000 bucks.

I would like to have the following:
- navigation
- dvd, mp3s, cd, etc
- wireless access
- touchscreen lcd

I personally would like to relocate the existing radio somewhere(glovebox or center arm rest), how can we get the audio from the pc to the car audio system?

Please add your wants, thoughts, and lets make this happen!

Please do not move this thread! This if for my sc brethren!

ACleanSC4 and I estimate for a high end system to be around $800 or so. Depending on time, we might make a mold of the brackets.

www.mp3car.com

will give you all your info, I researched and figured itd be better to have a laptop. If you need to have a cool or wow factor in your car then go right for it. A decent set up is only 1000 or 1200.

$800-$1000 bucks is very reasonable...

If I had this setup then I find no reason to keep my stock radio since the carputer plays endless amounts of MP3s already...I figure the hardest part of this mod is to figure out where to put things in the right places to retain the "stock-like" look...

we will be retaining the stock look. We're actually going for the OEM look, so when you look at the inside, you can't even tell it was a hack job.

LeXuSrAcIn: this has been done before with the computer in the glove box.

If you mean it hasn't been done very "stock like", I think that'll change soon!

we'll keep it hush hush for now, a lot of plans going on...you guys will see it hopefully by the end of the summer...

Tony

I meant its going to take time to make it perfect and look like a OEM unit. That Audi looks really clean. All the screens Ive seen on most cars look like some lil kid tried installing it.
