Default Soldering Help

im going to be changing my blown subwoofer in my 1990 ls400 using lextremes how to guide and i bought lead free solder....i know that the ideal solder to use is 60% tin and 40% lead in this situation but i already bought this solder and i was wondering if it would be alright to use....thanks in advance

Lead free solder requires more heat. If you have a good soldering iron, it shouldn't be a problem. If not, you'll have to worry about cold solder joints. You may be able to get it to flow better if you use good flux. Good luck.

You can find soldering flux at Radio Shack. It comes in a paste form or a liquid form. You put it on the contacts your going to solder to clean it and also to help the solder flow. Don't forget to clean your solder work after you finish it with alcohol. Good luck.
