id like to know too. i dunno what happened but my 12 disc CD changer (sc300) is jamming up. i hear something rattling when it TRIES to read a cd but it thinks nothing is there and just moves to the next cd and thinks nothing is there and the rattling just continues and it never actually plays antyhing.
cd's dont get caught or anything, it ejects just fine but i hear the rattling whenever it tries to read something. i need help too, arent the SC4 and SC3 12 disc changers the same? (i own a 95 if that helps). i think something else is either jammed or i need a whole new cd changer
edit: maybe ill take a short video so u guys can see and hear whats happening and maybe help a guy out. this never happened before.

*bump
no video yet and i havent had a chance to get the changer looked at, still same rattling noise like like its comming from something thats supposed to push the cd into the actual player but i just keep hearing it then it moves on and repeats again.
currently resorted to a portable cd player hooked up to the cassete player, lol

yep
yeah, i'm pretty sure it'll work fine. i switched out my broken cd changer with the "ERR" message all the time from my 93 sc, with a used changer from a 94 es. i'm almost positive that the 92 sc and 92 es are compatible too.

one other thing
oh yeah, so my es changer is a 6 disc instead of the 12 disc that came with the sc. i was worried this would cause some problems, but the head unit has no problems and acts as if it came with a 6 disc instead.
i can post pictures of my install of the changer if anybody wants. i asked around when i was installing mine to see how others did it (to get some ideas) but everybody i talked to that did the swap just had their changers lying around in the trunk.

Mine is in the trunk next to the 12 changer, on sponge packing material. It prevents it from skipping too much.

my setup
ok, so i thought about where to mount the 6disc changer for awhile, and decided the best way to do it woudl be to use the stock changer location because of the mounting holes already being there. i tried to think of a way to make a bracket but then i thought of an easier way.
so first i got a piece of wood, roughly the length of the old changer but a bit wider and spray painted it black. i then used the old stock 12disc mounting brackets and attached those to the piece of wood. i also drilled two holes which you'll see what they're for later.

in this next picture, you'll see that i used bolts that went through the wood, instead of any screws because i was using plywood and i didn't want the wood to splinter, etc. i had to use elbow brackets (picked them up at loews) so that i could change the location of where the stock bracket would attach to the wood, otherwise you would have to attack the brackets into the side of the wood where the layers of wood are compressed, making it prone to splitting.
here's a pic of the underside of the wood with the brackets attached... the elbow joints can be seen on the right side.

i then attached more elbow brackets to six locations on the new es 6disc changer. notice that the elbow brackets at the top of the pic are pointing down and are not flush like the other brackets. this is because these brackets will clip under the piece of wood and bolt on. so where the two holes were in the first picture, i placed two bolts going down that these elbow brackets would fit over.

bottom view - you can see all the nuts, bolts and washers i had to use. i also mounted the changer connector here just for space reasons. the bottom right corner of the board in the picture had to be cut and rounded to fit in the old changer location.
