i'm planning to remove the ashtray/cigarette lighter assembly and install a sound eq/processor ! Does anybody have this setup ? How deep is the above mentioned assembly ? thx.

I know a number of people have removed it to install their S-AFC or EFDC. Might want to search the GS forum for stuff like 'SAFC' or 'S-AFC install' to see if you get some pics and info. I'm pretty sure bitkahuna hollowed his out to mount the SAFC.

I don't remember a whole lot of space back there but I don't have a specific measurement for you. You can always take it out to see.

Good timing. I'm in the middle of trying to install my Kenwood H2A Sirius sat tuner in the same spot. I'd guess there's about 6" of depth maybe a bit more. I was suprised at the room. My intial guess would be to say yes it would fit, but as Neo said, take it out and see. It's very easy to do, and requires next to no tools.

yes, i'll take it out and see - also i'm thinking to make a panel flushed with the nav, not to lose that space - the ashtray unit is situated deeper in the dash comparing to the main unit - nav
