Anyone with an '01 LS430 ML system notice that there is a SIGNIFICANT difference in volume levels when going from FM to CD - in other words, the CD is MUCH louder and if you do not turn down the volume when switching from FM to CD you will deafen yourself?

Any way to correct this?

I have a 01 GS300 with the Levinson and know what you are talking about. There is a big difference in mine as well. I don't know why though. Does anyone know if you can adjust the automatic sound levelizer? Would that help?
