OE level modern sound suggestions
Hi All,
I'm looking for some suggestions on where to start. First, I have a good understanding of the ohms and whatnot, and I've installed several systems in my previous cars, but all my results have disappointed me. In my mk3 supra, I've done several different sets of speakers all of which sound like they are missing something and not balanced. Either too much bass, or the highs are too bright... Just something is out of wack.
On my SC300, I have the stock Pioneer system, and I really want to get to a place that would be sort of on par with my old ML system. I don't even know if that's doable but modern cars seem to have much better speaker systems.
I'm not looking for a big booming system. I'm 42, and I want a system that sounds crisp, clear, and has balance. I don't really want to change the size of the speakers on the front from the 4" speakers to anything else if I don't have to and I don't mind adding an aftermarket amp to power an open sub like the stock one that has a little more oofm that would go with cleaner crisper sounding speakers. However, I DO NOT want to change the stock head unit because I like the fact that it looks OEM, and I don't want a dead volume button, I like the way it is as is.
I'd love suggestions....
