Default TV Tuner Reception

Whats the best way to get good reception while using a TV tuner in the car? I heard of running lots of speaker wire in the trunk to help with the reception, how would that work?

Lick your left hand finger, stick it out the window (regardless of season). Place right hand on metal part of gear shift ****.... tune by opening mouth for best reception...

Using a length of wire in your trunk might work, but the TV tuner needs to acquire a signal from past the metal ground plane your car is creating. It also could cause image ghosting on the picture. If your TV tuner has inputs for divirsity antenna, use on window amplified diversity model like Pioneer AN-G3. If your tuner only has 1 antenna input, use an antenna with the amplifier and divisity switcher built in like Santeca ME-9000. For the ultimate TV viewing in your car check out KVH A5.

No tricks. Your best picture will be when the car is stationary and the worst picture will be when in motion. All depending on your distance and obstructions from the TV transmitting tower.
