LC-F With BMW 4.0 Twin Turbo V-8??
Hello all,
I keep reading about how the new LC-F might have a 4 liter V-8 with over 600 hp. If this is true, I'm wondering if Toyota is going to use the 4.0 twin turbo currently used in the BMW M5. Toyota is already using a BMW engine for the Supra and I keep reading about the new Lexus IS having a BMW engine so it's totally possible the LC-F will have a BMW engine also. Although, I'm not sure how I feel about it. Any thoughts?

Interesting. I mean toyota already developed a twin turbo motor in the LS500. Why not use it?
Some people are for using BMW motors, and some are against. Your're never going to please everyone. I would want to see a toyota motor in a toyota vehicle, however.

4.4L V8 twin turbo from Yamaha with closer to 700hp from what I have found. Akio Toyoda stated that 600hp wasn't enough for the LC-F and advised his team to produce more hp for the slated LC-F. There will be a weight reduction, lots more carbon and more aggressive styling as well. I hope they follow through and stop giving all their mid level cars the same power plants as their halo cars. It gives no incentive for anyone to spend $30K more to only have someone roll up in an RC-F and have the same motor and power as well as being faster than the LC.
It's like Chevy dropping those LS9 6.2L in all of their $30K **** box cars, why then buy a Z06?

In 2010 Akio Toyoda hatched an idea and delegated Toyota Motorsports (TMG) to build a super saloon, the result was an LS V8 TT. In 2012, they showcased it in the TS 650, with the number representing PS.
IS/BMW engine rumors are just that, clickbait that started off the back of the Supra's bmw i6.
Let's not perpetuate it even more by throwing the LCF in there via guilt by association. I can already see the rumor mill headlines now;
"Lexus Owners agree, LCF to use BMW V8TT after 5IS and Supra succumbs to German engineering might".
