NOVEL Carbon Fiber Aerodynamics Kit for Lexus LC500 Tokyo Auto Salon 2019 Photos
We were at Tokyo Auto Salon 2019 to catch up with our partners at NOVEL Japan and to hunt for the latest and greatest in what Japan has to offer. While we were there we took some shots of the new NOVEL Japan LC500 Aerodynamics Kit and wanted to share it with the community and get some feedback for Japan. The kit is now available in FRP and Carbon Fiber.
The kit includes
Front Diffuser,
Side Skirts
Rear Diffuser
For installation this would be at a moderate difficulty and professional installation is highly recommended. The front and side skirts will require additional mounting points to be drilled, the rear diffuser does not require additional holes just the OEM mounting points. NOVEL is heavily oriented towards performance in their tuning philosophy. Their designs will reflect that uncompromising focus towards functional aesthetics. Pole Position
Not a fan of this kit. Tom's already killed it with their kit and still by far the best one so far on the market. Let me know when you find a carbon fiber hood for my LC. I'd like to get one just like the GT500 car has. Double reverse cowl inlets.

These GFX kits are more cosmetic than functional. People install them because they like the appearance. Any functional effects (positive or negative) will be negligible. Believe it or not, changing the wheel offset (outward) negatively affects the airflow dynamics more than GFX kits. The factory side air vents are designed to move air around the outside of the wheels. Moving the wheels outward disturbs this laminar flow. Understanding this, I still decided to install aftermarket wheels with offsets that align the tires with the fenders. It's very obvious that the wheel-well vents now direct airflow directly into the tires, rather than around them. I don't track it, so I don't care. I just prefer the more aggressive stance. People often disregard the extensive engineering that Lexus put into the overall design of this vehicle, in exchange for making cosmetic changes. I think that's perfectly fine for the majority of us that aren't pushing the performance limits of this awesome "GT" vehicle.
