LC500 Glass Roof

My 2018 LC500 with the glass roof creaks, pops, and rattles very much un-Lexus Like quality. I love my car so much and yet that is the one and only complaint and disappointment. Have there been any others with this issue for the LC500 with the glass roof option??

Search this forum. Lots of complaints and fixes posted.

Tsib

I see the fixes in a thread but those are DIY. Does anyone know if Lexus has released TSIB for these? I have the roof and back rattles as well as several others (console, drivers seat belt strap, etc). Thanks in advance for anyone who may have access to TSIBs.

I have it at dealership currently. They have basically taken the roof apart trying to find the cause. So far no luck yet.

I'd be interested to hear if a Lexus fix TSB has been issued. Mine does the same creaks and rattles bit and as this is my first Lexus, I'm disappointed. I'd be happy if they are able to solve this.

One dealer replaced 3rd brake light as there is a TSIB For that and it corrected one rattle. This one sounds like it’s under headliner above front seats. Will let you know what they find as a fix once they do.

Yes we are ALL aware of that other thread however it only discusses self fixes. None of us want to fix the issues ourselves. Additionally those fixes are likely temporary and don’t solve the underlying issue. Since taking to a different dealer I have renewed hope that some Lexus dealerships do care and will diligently work hard to find the underlying causes. The dealerships also are on this thread and read all these posts. None of the previously tried fixes have solved my issue so far. I have also been in contact with Lexus customer care directly and they are very interested in solving this. I would encourage everyone with the issue to take it to their dealer and drive with the head service manager. The more people that take it in the more likely it is to get a fix. This isn’t an IS where they service a bunch of them so we are limited on dealer experience. If in the LA area I encourage you use Longo Lexus.

Correct. But the pics and description might be helpful for your Lexus technician. It seems to isolate the problem areas well. It may be a lot faster to show this thread to your service advisor, rather than having a tech spend lots of time trying to find where the noise is coming from. Without a TSB, this may give your technician a head-start on the issue and solution.

I had this same creaking problem - Mine however was not the third brake light, but we figured it out. It was actually coming from the support panels below the passenger seat. We has to push the Passenger seat forward and remove the passenger side back seats. Near the floor panel had very thin support piece of metal that runs up behind the panel to the seat belt. You could hear the creaking while pushing on it. We had to loosen all the bolts and re tighten them on level floor where the car body is not flexing.

Hope this helped

I've had two rattles near my rear windshield. First one took two weeks to fix and required a specialist to come in and disassemble the car. Second one took less than 24 hours to fix. If you're comfortable using a rental car for a while, bring it to the dealership and let them handle it.
