Simple solution. Drive in manual mode. All of your issues will disappear. The more you press the throttle, the more it will be responsive in upshifts and downshifts. It locks up the torque converter and gives a very mechanical engagement like a single-clutch manual. In lower gears, there is a shift shock part throttle, which I love (I have driven 6 speed manual for 15 years).

The LC is electronically limited to a top speed of 168 mph, so I was surprised to see a 177. Is the speedo that far off or was the limitation disabled?

I agree. When I travel the interstates I normally like to cruise about 170 to 175 in my other vehicles, (Porsche, Jag. and Audi) I have just not been able to reach that in my LC after two trips!

LC500 Racing and Tires
I was recently informed by a Dealer rep. that Lexus is committed to further performance development with the LC500 as he referred me to the LC's early entrance into racing. The LC dominated and won the Super GT500 championship in 2017 racing against NSX's, GTR's, etc. I just watched the last 2018 race on July 1st where it won against R8's , M6, etc. Racing is a test ground for future performance development including reliability even thought the cars are modified and weigh much less. On another another note, my car came equipped with Bridgestones. I discovered that this is a new tire and that cars in the GT races are using Bridgestones.
