You sound like you need a convertible.
Btw, I found the arguable difference between moon roof and sun roof:
moonroof: a moonroof generally includes a tinted glass panel, much like an extra window on top of the car. Moonroofs typically will tilt open slightly to allow fresh air into the cabin, but won't open completely like a sunroof.
sun roof: can open completely.

I think "moon roof" technically is a sunroof that is made of glass, something that opens. So the LC has a glass roof with a sunshade, like the Tesla and a few others. IMO, that's pretty much all I ever use a moon roof for anyway; I hardly ever open mine. Going with a fixed glass roof saves some cost and weight high up, though of course a CF roof saves even more weight up there...

That isn't a bad choice at all. In pacific NW, in my opinion, every car needs a moon roof lol. Not sure where you are located in CA. You might appreciate it and I will definitely miss it in the winter.
My car right now is in body shop for clear bra installation. I wanted to tint the windows to protect the interior alcantara/leather as well. But eventually, I decide not to since I got no moon roof. It is dark enough inside.

Curious about where you were going to get your tinting. I avoid anything other than factory tint, because I've seen too many beautiful cars ruined with their rear tint bubbling up. Did you get the Lexus clear bra or after market? The Lexus one looked dubious to me. I wanted to get it, but didn't want a visible strip of plastic on the hood. Lexus has some interior protection package that they sneakily included in my bill. It actually works, as I got sunblock all over the interior and it wiped off (with some effort and Meguiar's interior spray). Not worth the $900+ IMO, but it does warranty your interior for 7-years.

Performance package definitely makes sense on the upper west coast, specifically because of the LSD. You get that last minute traction if a drive wheel starts slipping. I'm just outside San Francisco, and live right by some excellent mountain roads and the coastal highway. You're right, the moonroof is perfect for it and can be dangerously distracting.

I have a reputable body shop in the area doing all the tinting/clear bra for me. Well, this time just clear bra. The shop owner promised to re-do the door edge strips for free since they look really unprofessional.
In fact, I'll get my car back in 1 hour or so. I may post some photos if you guys are interested.
interior protection package? what does that include?

Pics are always welcome. The interior protection package apparently includes the application of some protectant. I think it's a scam, but the 7-year warranty that comes with it may be worth it if you're worried about the interior wearing down.
