Dealer Forcing Smart Shield
I was told the exact same thing. I must've told my sales guy a million times I do NOT want tint or ceramic forced on me.
I'm super picky about detailing so I usually get my car sent to get PPF'ed (in a place I vetted and trust) upon delivery.
I told them it was a deal breaker.

I wouldn’t want it even if it was n/c. Since I was dealing directly with the mgr she’s the last person I figured would try to force something. I also didn’t want to discuss #’s until the car arrived and we were happy with it, plus it will be the end of the month. This reminds me of the old polyglycoat crap (based out of Boca Raton Fl) many new car dealers used to use as an add on until they had their asses sued as it was essentially nothing more than a glorified wax . Btw, I’m in Fl so SE Toyota distributors gets their hands on every new vehicle that enters their region and they are notorious for add on crap like the infamous gold emblem packages they were also sued for forcing their dealers to install. I never thought Lexus would be affected by this.
I’ll make it known once the dust settles with all this, and want to see if they make it right in the interim. As of now it’s been radio silence since I wrote them we absolutely don’t want the car treated.

Southeast Toyota is notorious for this crap but they actually don't push their crap on Lexus products. The only thing they install are OEM port installed options, unlike in Toyota land where they have their own region specific options and accessories. SET processes the vehicles but other than that they don't really interfere in the Lexus operations. So much so that SET uses their in house trucking company for Toyota's, but all Lexus' are transported via a third party called Centurion. This option is being pushed by the dealer, not the distributor. Which dealer are you dealing with?
Update: I have yet to hear back from the dealership and sent the sales mgr another text indicating I need confirmation the car would not be treated, and if by chance it inadvertently was after it arrives, it would negate our interest. My guess is they'd try to say it fell through the cracks and was done by accident etc., so I wanted to put them on notice I'm one step ahead of any tricks so to speak...
Still hoping this works out well but I'm now not so sure...what a poor way to do business.
EDIT: GSM is now involved so it should all be good...keep you all posted.
