I am totally happy with the fob and have no real desire for a key card, but I was wondering: does the key card work with an RFID wallet? My wife just got me an RFID wallet for my birthday, and I was chagrined to discover that my ID badge can't be read through the wallet by the card reader at work. While I don't need to take the card out of the wallet now, I do need to unfold the wallet to hold it up to the reader. I know: first world problem.
dont think a card type key is available with ordinary LC.
I have a 23 LC convertible, it did not come with a card key. My dealership was able to order the correct card key, program it as well as cut the physical key. Yes, it was pricey because Lexus did everything, but it works perfectly and I'm 100% satisfied. At first, they ordered a card key and tried to program it and it failed. I was told sorry, but the car needs to be wired from the factory for the card key to work. A few months later my Lexus service advisor called and stated he spoke with his rep and now has the correct card key for my vehicle. I'm totally happy and appreciate my service advisor working behind the scenes to get this accomplishrd. On a side note: iMO, Card Keys should be standard on a $114,855 vehicle. I understand Lexus may have been trying to control overall cost, but I do miss some things from my previous 2013 LS460, like the soft closing doors. The LC seats look awesome but are not as soft as the LS460 leather seats nor as thick and smooth as the 2006 SC430 seats. Last year I sold my LS460 & SC430, and purchased my 23 LC. It was worth it, but some things feel odd, like manually opening and closing the trunk lid on a six figure car 🤔.

Does anyone know if I can take my card key from my RX and have a dealer reprogram it to work with my LC instead? or if I can buy a card key online and use that to get reprogrammed? I really like the card key and would like to have one for both.
No. As I understand, once a key is programmed to a car, I'm not sure you can program it to another car. Second, AFAIK there are no key cards that work for the earlier years of LCs and they each PN only works with specific cars.

is there a Lexus part # that i can show parts guy....will this work on a 24 LC coupe.
Sooo.....for those using the card key, where do you keep your house keys? I have the card key but don't use it as I have a couple of other keys I need so I have had keys in my pocket anyway. Need a place for them so the car fob is as good a place for them as any. Would be interested in some form of "phone key" since many smart door locks offer this so you wouldn't need house keys at all. I suppose the app will do that but a proximity key on the phone would be nice?

I enter/exit the home exclusively thru the garage so don't carry house keys. Refuse to acknowledge for the possibility that when I get home the power is out, but there may be contingencies in place for that lol
I knock on the door. LMAO.
With my other two cars with key fobs, I usually just take the whole key chain. But sometimes, I just leave the house with the wallet and come back and knock on the door.

Could you share part # and total cost please.
Interested for my 23 as well.
