2022 LC500 Convertible reliability
^^^^I've been buying cars since 1957, new since 1962. Never bought an extended warranty and only needed to once. I had one lemon in all those years, a 1970 Mustang Boss 302. In the first year, the engine in that car required extensive work on three occasions. On the third occasion I threw a rod driving to work on a congested road. I continued to work on 7 cylinders. I might have considered an extended warranty on that car, but it was not available for the Boss. So, I traded it before the year was up for a GTO.
IMHO, I'd rather self insure for any repair that might be needed rather than pay an insurance company that I know is in the business of making money.

Lexus is (and has been) very tops in reliability for many years. Plus the vert has very little differences than the coupe. I would think reliability should be least of your worries
Make your decision on the other factors like fun to drive, looks, fits your lifestyle, interior room, comfort, etc.
