Valley Plate Leak
prove me wrong please. After so many several years since I first looked at LC500, today, I am still looking at LC500, my stock “fake” digital numbers rockets, base pay bumps, but car price surges over MSRP so I still kept my old 7 year cheap car. Even my wife starts laughing at me, lmao.... After reading this, I started looking at LC500h which was a joke to me.....
I am also thinking $2000-3000 in 5-8 years or 80k - 100k miles to fix is not an issue for me, I only got pay this once. But, then why not switch to other more fun Germany car at the same price point, I need to expect to fix anyway. I looked at Lexus for the sake of peace of mind in willing to sacrifice other fun/cool facts. If Lexus is not solid as rock any more ( let alone this is a design flaw and they don’t fix it), then why Lexus in the first place.
get a grip, it's not the end of the world.
exactly. people will pay more for that in that time for detailing.
because unless you're a DIYer, you'll be spending a lot more on 'fixes'.
because the LC500 is a unicorn in this day and age, spectacularly beautiful to many, naturally aspirated v8 with engine/exhaust sound to die for, incredible interior design and materials, very comfortable cruiser, rare on the road, nothing else like it.

To clarify my TE didn't have the issue yet, but I'm looking forward to having the issue lol
I don't think the valley plate is an issue, but to say its NOT an issue is not technically correct.
And today it's 2 to 3k, I imagine 8 years from now Lexus labor rate will be at least 300$/hr

As for the labor cost bump, I am pretty sure our base pay (and bonus I hope.....) will beat that inflation easy.
I saw vraa mentioned his RCF track edition has this same issue. Just googled, RCF first came out at 2014, but RCF track edition came out at 2020? If this 2020 is truly the first year of RCF track edition, then, logically, I just ruined your statement of 2014.......

My answer is quite simple. If Toyota is/was aware of any issue with this engine and neglected to fix it, they are in fact transferring the liability for repair to their customers. To me, that’s GREEDY.
