Looking at prices of used LC500's I am seeing many certified, and many non-certified used LCs. Is it worth the extra cost(and models that are not what I am looking for) to get a certified car? I understand that Lexus adds to the warrantee if it is certified.

 

I would go certified if possible. They treat you as if you’ve bought a new Lexus. I think it’s completely worth it especially on an LC.

 

Certified would be my choice, but if it came to getting the colour/interior that I want vs non-certified I would likely go with colour choice. Finding an LC convertible is definitely an adventure.

 

When I bought my 2019 LC500 earlier this year, it wasn't certified but in the finance office they offered to certify it for right around $2200 IIRC, which I decided it was worth doing.

 

$2200 not a bad price to get certified. Would they have certified one not bought through them?

 

Doubt it, but I'm not sure how it really works. They didn't do anything extra to the car when they "certified" it. Wouldn't hurt to try though.
In retrospect, I should have tried to negotiate the certification in the deal but I was too excited to get my LC to think of it.

 

Been looking at a lot of Lc 500 on line, some certified, some not. In my way of thinking, especially when buying a car of this price/quality, it would be worth it to me to get one that is certified by Lexus, versus buying one that was a trade in to say a Chevy or Ford dealership were they may not know didly about the car and the possibility that you could be buying a problem...
