yeah that was my assumption, that Auto would still be on even if you turn off/on recirculating. But by default, the system will turn on Recirc when its Hot outside and you are using the AC. It's only when you use Heat that Recirculating is set to off as default.

The auto smog sensor is a cool feature, EXCEPT that it wont switch out of recirculate when its over 75. Thats a unique Toyota/Lexus thing, my Mercedes for instance has no such smog sensor
