I have noticed my brakes starting squealing lately. Mostly when I back up. I read in some post it was due to the size or type of pads. Not sure that was true.

I am not sure if it is true for all model years, but the earlier models came with performance pads. The squealing wasn't a huge bother to me, but the brake dust was pretty bad.
There is a TSB for the pads if you mention the squeal/brake dust. My dealer replaced them for free with a revised pad but the difference isn't huge and I don't have to clean the wheels after every drive.
Squeal is also gone now. If you don't have the brakes dust everywhere (you would probably know) then you might already have the revised pad. You could try getting on the brakes hard and burning off any glaze on the discs and see if that helps.
