Default Radar Detector

Pardons if this is a duplicate post. What is everyone's thoughts on installing radar detectors? Specifically anyone have one installed on their LC and where it can't be seen? Been pulled over a lot more with this ride

Check out this thread, starting at message No. 11. Not exactly hidden, but it's quite easy to hard wire to the rear-view mirror mount.

The radar game is tough to play right now. I drove hundreds of thousands of miles with my Valentine V1 protecting me from traps. Now the laser guns are everywhere, and every car seems to use radar for lane assist, crash detection, and blind-spot assist. The bottom line is that there is too much noise. I rely on Waze more than anything right now. People do a great job of reporting hidden 'smokies" as well as other road issues. Is it perfect....nope. Is better than a bunch of false alarms. I think it is. Just my $.02. Your mileage may vary.

The speed detection game has changed a lot.

Most newer detectors can filter out the lane change radar that is becoming prevalent. Otherwise, it’s a constant signal, not worth it, agree. Very seldom report of laser other than near our airport.

I am getting fewer radar hits these last few years than during the previous 30. Still see people pulled over but I feel like the Law has less interest in doing it.

I’ve never done full concealed builtins with laser shifters and what all you can get for several thousand dollars. I just hard wire at the mirror like rd47 suggests. Uniden R7.
