Default Trunk Question

I have the 2018 Structural Blue Inspiration series that I purchased new three years ago. This car does not have the active trunk spoiler but the underside of my trunk lid is very bulky as though I did have the active spoiler. A travel suitcase is too thick to allow the trunk to close so I have to push it under the rear deck lid so the trunk will close. Recently, while looking at a new LC500 convertible, I noticed that the underside of the trunk lid which also does not have the active spoiler is very flat, concave even, so there is ample room once closed to accommodate a suitcase. This must be the same on the hybrid models.

Does anyone else without an active spoiler have this same underside or is it flat like the convertible and hybrid models.

I'm not sure how to post pics, maybe someone else can to show what I'm talking about.

The Trunk Lining of my LC without the active spoiler looks like this:

Both the Convertible and Hybrid do not the trunk extension under the rear package shelf.

Yes, exactly. Thank you Lou. What is the reason for all of this waste of trunk space that is caused by this bulk, when clearly it's not necessary as is proven by the convertible and by the hybrid?

Can someone with a convertible post the same shot? .... or hybrid, if there are any?
