Question LC500 Hand Washing

I have seen numerous posts about hand washing your LC 500's. I just picked one up and intend do to the same. What type of car wash solutions do you recommend? Also, I see all sorts of easy applied spray waxes and ceramic sprays as well. Any advise on your experiences with those products?

Thank you in advance.

I use stuff from Griots Garage but am no expert.

I take my fun cars to Chicago Auto Pros.

Here is a link to their videos, there should be lots of recommendations for products amongst these.

There is a YouTube channel called Obsessed Garage. He has videos teaching correct ways to hand wash car, among many other car info vids. Mods, ceramic coatings, etc.. . The guys is extremely **** about clean cars and really shows the process and products that are best. I highly recommend. I've been using his methods and have kept the clear coat marring to almost zero. No swirls.,etc and he only buys high end cars. Mainly Porsche and BMW so you won't be watching him wash buicks. He's not a detailer but just a guy who worked hard to find the best methods and shares them. If you watch all his car washing videos, you'll be an expert and every question you asked is answered plus more you cant even think of yet.

Obsessed Garage is the name of the channel and Matt Moreman is the guy running the channel and owner of Obsessed Garage.

Default LC 500 Hand wash

instead of wax. there is a great product by car pro called reload its a ceramic quick shine but what a shine, lasts 3-4 months. Even better if you can get the ceramic coat process then stay up with the reload, it appears wet and is the new look! Beautiful, great for rims, rim barrels, calipers, glass as well. There is a wash that works with the ceramic coat by the same company, again great product.

The shop that did my PPF/Ceramic Coating charges $35 for a proper hand wash.

But I, too, have always used MOther's or Griots products in my own garage.

I have the caviar color (black) and this is my process.
1. high pressure wash 1x every 2 months maybe 3 with meguiar's wash and wax soap and those "noodle" like wash mitts
2. dry then use BEAD MAKER detail spray. the best stuff, next day your car will look wet. like pizza, bead maker seems to do better on the 2nd day.
3. between washes i use ONR (optimum no rinse wash & wax...green stuff not blue). i always thought ONR would cause scratches on paint....tested it and it does not. **note all washing, detail spraying etc will cause light spider webbing etc but see #4
4. Once every 3-4 months i break out the Rupes or Porter Cable dual action polisher and polish away the inevitable light swirls and scratches. Nothing aggressive, just a light once over does the trick. I have never found the need to ramp it up to the dewalt rotary although i do use the rotary on my 2008 GS350 (daily driver)
5. after the polish i change pads and hit it with a layer of carnauba wax.
6. every 4-5 months i blast the rims with meguiars wheel cleaner and use chemical guys rim wax on the rims. Safe to do so or not i dont like spraying a lot of chemicals on my rims

hope this helps

Note: my bad boy only comes out on weekends garage kept the rest of the time and I detailed cars for spending cash in my college days.
