Default Lease transfer

I am interested in hearing from anyone with experience in transferring a Lexus lease. I have a 2018 LC Nightfall Mica with 6 months remaining on the lease

Before I purchased my LC - I tried taking over someone else's lease who had his LC for only 3 months (back in 2017). Keep in mind that Lexus won't allow a lease transfer unless your credit score/history, etc. is better or the same as the person who is on the lease already. Nevertheless, I tried (taking over the lease) and failed despite my score being higher than the current owner's by 20 points (my score was averaging 800 across all 3 bureaus). I then tried again, by having my brother co-sign (who's a physician with 800+ score as well), and they denied it as well.

So - it might only be that Lexus doesn't want to allow the LC to be transferred since it's such a low volume vehicle - they'd rather have the interested party go for a new one or L Certified pre owned. That's my take/experience on it - and someone else's could've been different.

Lexus lease told me that after they get the credit application from the prospective transferee and all my paperwork it will take 8 weeks or more to complete the transfer. Sounds like they really do not want transfers.

Lesson Learned - Don't get leases, or as I've heard them called, fleeces, on vehicles. Buy the thing or move on.

As I've been told "Don't buy buy things we don't need with money we don't have to impress people we don't like."

My 2 cents worth . . .

Yo, Doc!

Have you been to Lexus of ABQ to see their SGM/red leather LC 500 'vert yet?

I'll be at their dealership next Friday with a lady friend that just bought a RX350. It's a 250 mile jaunt for me from the house. I have seen the listing for the Smoky Granite Mice / Red Leather 'Vert. It's a very pretty car. Asking $112,055.

Unfortunately convertibles are not my thing. I'll stay with by carbon fiber roof coupe, thank you.

Your two cents is worth a lot more than that, couldn't agree more.
