Hi, Thank you. Not sure I want to go thru all that work. A lot of labor to. Any thoughts about a wheel repair shop that works on chrome could possibly touch it up and at least make it look a little better. Only the lower portion was damaged? Thanks uchujin.

Sure - you could try that. But I'm thinking they'll want to re-paint the entire grille, and that labor cost could equal or exceed the cost of replacing the $300 grille piece. Get quotes both ways and see what works best! BTW - I can't find just the upper grille part and price, but I'm sure it's not more than $300. The lower grille is only $165 through partsmonster.com. See what your dealer can do for you. Good luck man!

^^^^Sorry if I misunderstood - But in Post #2, I asked for a pict. I have attached a pict of my emblem. Is the left arrow or the right arrow pointing to the blemish?

Hi, the blemish is on the right arrow front. Thanks and looking forward to your thoughts. Basically right on the front of where the right arrow is. The garage door scrapped that side pretty good.

Yes - it does look like a separate piece, but it may not be available as a separate part in the US if it's sonic-welded onto the grille. I found this out the hard way when I bought my lower grille - thinking I could swap my prox sensor assemblies. This isn't easy to do professionally unless one owns an (expensive) sonic welder. There are 2 lower grilles for the LC - one with the prox sensor mounts welded on, and one without those. This emblem surround may be the same story - welded on too. Sorry - I never looked at it closely when I had my bumper off. Any Lexus parts department should be able to tell you for sure, but from this grille assembly diagram, I'm gonna say one needs to buy the entire upper grille...

To elaborate a little further... If you look at some Lexus parts - like the grille, there are lots of smaller parts sonic-welded in place. Those smaller parts all have valid Toyota part numbers stamped on them, but those numbers don't show up in the US dealer parts systems! They can't get those individual parts here. Because of the sonic-welding, one has to buy an entire assembly, I was told - in Japan, all those individual parts are available, but not outside of Japan. Not sure if this is accurate, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Yeah, And I wouldn't be surprised if that part is sonic-welded to the grille with its own Toyota part number stamped on it. That doesn't surprise me so much but this does... Woodranch told me his Lexus dealer cannot get just the upper grille! He has to buy the entire grille assembly (lower grille, upper grille, emblem, chrome surround, lower grille insert)! This seems completely absurd, but it would explain why I couldn't find an upper grille part on any of the online sites. The lower grille on the other hand, is available as a separate part. Go figure...

Bumping an old thread instead of starting a new one. I no longer have my LC, but my brother just purchased one and wants to replace the emblem. Has anyone done this with an aftermarket part? I have the OEM part that was provided in this thread by @danibear , but he wants a custom look.

Thanks!

The emblem has a radar sensor in it. Best you can probably do is wrap all or part of the OEM one. Others have done it. Not sure if or how that might affect the sensitivity of the sensor. Either way - might want to have the dealer recalibrate it. Probably not worth the effort IMO.
