We've seen this video about how Lexus makes the most incredible blue paint in the world.


But are they actually selling any cars with this paint? When I get on the Lexus.com website to build my own car, this color isn't a choice. So what is the story here?

 

It's a very limited color that requires 8 months and 12 steps to complete. As far as I know... It was only available on the limited edition structural blue LC, and it appears it MAY also be available on the LC convertible - likely also as a limited edition color only.

 

As I understand it, Lexus chose this color for the 2021 LC 500 Convertible Inspiration Series. 100 examples are supposed to be made and will be available in the summer. The first of these cars was auctioned off by Barrett-Jackson back in January. I would love to see this color in person some day.

 

^^^^I saw the color at an "F" meet in Arizona back in early December. There was a 2018 Inspiration Series there. And yes, it looked outstanding However, if I owned it, I would be afraid to drive the darn thing What if the owner happened to be in a fender bender and body work and repaint was required
