Who’s doing transmission tuning for the 10 speed in the LC?

Also an update, my ECU has been unlocked and reinstalled into my LC. I have an appointment to get a stock baseline dyno + tuning dyno on 5/12 and I’ll post results shortly. I may end up not going with an E85 tune and just go with a 91 octane tune from TunedByLoi.

 

I also have a LC500. How did it work out? What type of results did you get?

We attempted flashing a couple months ago but it didn’t work. I’ve been in touch with OV Tune to figure out why it didn’t flash. They’ve ordered their own LC 500 ecu for testing and I’m just waiting on any updates. No updates from them so far, hoping we’ll get some soon. Loi has my tune files ready so we just have to wait for OV Tune to properly unlock the ecu.

 

i've never heard of a lexus ecu being unlocked (not saying it hasn't happened!) so this is interesting. thanks for the updates.

 

The LC500 ECU is apparently like Fort Knox. I don't understand why it hasn't been unlocked yet.

Nice to see it finally cracked. Aside from the engine fuelling/timing stuff, is the gearbox programming accessible? Can we adjust shift times, shift logic, engine brake control, any of that stuff?

#skeptical on...

- actual benefits (besides subjective butt-o-meter)
- how it was cracked as i believe toyota/lexus ecu's have never been cracked before as far as i know - could be wrong though (maybe encryption?)
- what it actually changes
- possible normal driving downsides
- what the long term reliability impact is

hopefully all positive as we learn more.

He probably could make a tune for pops and burbles but it won't be like the pops and bang tunes on turbo cars.

I'll be taking it for a dyno comparison from stock soon. I'll post another video when I do.
I don't know what the method to crack the ECU was, but we got halfway there a few months ago, but weren't able to flash; then just yesterday with the new updated VF Tuner software I was able to flash the file Loi provided me. Loi's tunes are very reliable, from all of the previous tunes he's done I think all of his customers have been fairly satisfied. I definitely have been - my RC F was also tuned by him.

 

Curious as I follow your progress with the tune, do you have headers or an exhaust on your car? It doesn't show if you have any mods other than the tune.
