I have a coverking satin stretch for the LC. I bought one years back for my M5 and really loved the soft touch and fit. The LC cover is not as form fitting around the mirrors but it’s still nice and soft and is a great indoor option if it’s in your budget. Good luck!

Are they available on the market specifically to fit the LC500?[/QUOTE]

+1 on the Coverking Satin Stretch. Got mine last year for my 2024 LC, and absolutely love it.

If you're shipping the car definitely look into getting one. Transport can be rough and you want to prevent paint damage from all the road debris, dust, and whatever else it might get exposed to during the trip.

For the LC500 specifically, yeah there are covers made to fit it properly. You don't want a universal fit for a car like that, the contours are too specific and a loose cover is just gonna cause more problems than it solves. Look for ones that specifically list the LC500 in their fitment guide.

I'd say go with something that's actually designed for transport if that's your main use case. Indoor storage covers are different from outdoor ones, and transport covers are built tougher because they need to handle highway speeds and constant movement. Some of the higher end brands make transport specific ones with extra reinforcement and better tie down systems.

Main thing is don't cheap out on this. The LC500 paint is not something you want to mess around with, and if it gets damaged during shipping that's a headache you really don't need. Get something with multiple layers, soft inner lining so it doesn't scratch, and a secure fastening system so it doesn't fly off during transport.

Check if the shipping company has any requirements too, some of them are picky about what kind of covers they allow. But yeah for October shipping you definitely want to have something sorted out soon so you're not rushing last minute.

you can definitely find covers specifically tailored for the lc500 because companies like covercraft and seal skin have the exact dimensions for that body style already in their database if you are shipping the car in october you definitely want a high quality custom fit cover instead of a universal one because the generic ones will flap in the wind and could potentially scuff your paint while it is on the transport trailer

it is usually best to go with a multi layer fabric that offers some padding against minor dings while it is being moved and make sure it has reinforced tie down points to stay secure during the long trip i actually went through this exact same process when i moved my own car across the country and a buddy of mine ran into a similar struggle while checking out dodge challenger vehicle cover options before he finally picked a heavy duty outdoor model

I don't like using car covers, especially when stored inside the garage.
No matter what the cover inside material is, as you always pull it over the car, unless it is perfectly clean, there is always the chance of any sharp particles (sand or such) getting inbetween, which wil cause scratches.

I use so called "reveal" covers in the garage, what dealers use to cover a car and revealing it to the buyer at delivery.
These are always super smooth material that you can throw over the car, hardly any pulling needed, so minimal risk of scratching and perfect protection from getting dusty

In the garage I never cover it. Wash avg 1 a week maybe 9 days, depending weather during May to Nov. Will cover it once mid Nov to Mid April for storage. Not many times on and off, works well.

I have a Coverking all weather. I don't have a garage and want something to protect from the summer heat and rays. We had a lot of rain in the first part of the year but nothing since. The car is ceramic coated and the cover has a soft inner liner to protect against scratches. I use a duster before placing the cover on. I don't drive it often so it can sit for a few days at a time. It is a huge and heavy cover, you can't just roll it up and put it in the trunk. Doing it just by yourself can be a pain trying to keep the main portion of the cover from sliding off to the sides while you unroll it over the top of the car. When I don't have the cover on, I use a window shade that fully covers the entirety of the front windshield. Even though I have the ceramic tint on the front glass, the shade is even better at heat reduction. The sun destroyed the dash and interior of my 06 IS350, so I want to protect the interior as w

ell as the exterior.
