My biggest gripe with the LC is that its Sport+ mode doesn't really feel as sporty as it could/should. I find it upshifting way too frequently and not really holding RPMs in a "fun" range. There's just too much of a lag when I put my foot down and the engine has to drop two or three gears to accommodate.

With that said it's still such an enjoyable car to drive that I'm really putting way too many miles on it too soon!!

 

Simple solution. Drive in manual mode. All of your issues will disappear. The more you press the throttle, the more it will be responsive in upshifts and downshifts. It locks up the torque converter and gives a very mechanical engagement like a single-clutch manual. In lower gears, there is a shift shock part throttle, which I love (I have driven 6 speed manual for 15 years).

 

My LC with performance pack. will be deliveredthis week . With that said, I have several cars; 911 track vehicle, Jag. XKRS, S7, etc. The LC is not a 911. The LC is a substitute for a 255K Aston. Check the track and slalom comparos on YouTube. The LC posts better numbers. It's a luxury GT. and excels at being that. Sound to me is very important. Most turbos don't have it. The LC does and I will do a lot of overnight trips in it due to the amenities.

There is another vid. of racer Randy Pobst testing the LC500 and advising Lexus rep. what to tweak when it was under development. In other words, the LC competes very well against the $255,000.00 competition. The competition is not Porsche, etc.

I have driven the the M1 series and it's a great Pocket Rocket! Not in the same class as the LC. Cars for two different purposes. GTI is a better value than the M1

 

Yea, nobody is comparing the Lexus LC to an m1.

 

The LC500 reminds me of my old Maserati Granturismo. While I was in love with the sound and status. It just wasn’t fast enough in a straight line. People would wait outside restaurants to talk to me about the car. But it was like dating a model that was terrible in bed. All looks. I honestly find it stupid that Lexus brought such a slow car to the market when they had years to make a perfect LC in every way. If I have Aston Martin money I’m not buying a LC500. My alternate would be a Bentley. Sorry

 

Let's see. The uTube video showed the LC hitting 177 mph. Mmmm. Fast enough for this guy.

 

177mph...the top speed for the vehicle per lexus website is 168mph
Actually that's pretty slow compare to the other cars in it's class...For example Granturismo, NSX, Jag, and Porsche
The LC500 is a beautiful car with an awesome interior with ok performance.

 

Atomic silver LC with red interior and Performance Pkg. with Carbon mirrors to match the roof. finally delivered 6:30 a.m. today. 1100 miles on odometer. Just had full 3M wrap and tinted windows installed . Drove it 120 miles and finished with 20 minutes on backroads testing the limited slip diff. and paddle shifters. It was pretty hot when I pulled into the garage. Awesome car. Power well matched to chassis. Quick shifting and sound to match my XKRS. Terrific brakes. Much more fun than 600 hp. Jag at about the same wgt. Very easy to go sideways in Jag and must use snow mode when it rains. No substitute for horsepower but that doesn't necessarily equate to more fun. Interior quality is fantastic. A great GT. Doing an overnight tomorrow and another few hundred miles on country roads. TOMS exhaust coming soon.

Top speed is only 168? Unacceptable. I am going to have this thing hauled to the scrapyard. It's in great condition but I am not even going to bother sell it. Just going to grind it down into compost & sprinkle it across the back yard.
