Lexus LC - Successor to Lexus SC?
According to Wikipedia, Lexus LC is the successor to the Lexus SC. Which brings me to my question...
Why did they name the new Lexus coupe as the LC instead of the SC?
Why did they name the new Lexus coupe as the LC instead of the SC?
Most likely because Lexus is trying to shed their previous image stereotypes. The SC particularly the last generation was badly battered by the media that Lexus wanted to make sure people do not stereotype this car and look at it from a fresh perspective especially from a performance-oriented stand point so they chose to give a new name.
It's definitely the new SC. I do think they should have kept the SC name since the LF-LC was designed by Calty like the original SC.
The goofy thing is that LC stands for Lexus Challenge. I think SC sounds better and many of the older older clients are familiar with the first and second generation SC's.

And I also think they should have kept the SC badge for this new coupe. LC sounds so meh to me .......
