Default 15,000+ LCs sold in the US.....

.....and right now there are less than 100 used models for sale.

What a crazy statistic.

That's less than 1%!

People just must love these damn things and want to hold on to them.

I dont think thats too far a cry from other cars. Consider the C8 corvette. Something close to 200,000 of them made so far, and only about 3300 used ones on autotrader.

Thats just a rough estimate and equates to like 1.65% of all C8s produced being sold on the used market.

The LC likely has a pretty strong owner "keep" rate, but I dont think its multiples of other GT sporty cars. I think the % was likely higher before production end was announced and fence sitters started snapping up used examples.

I would LOVE to do an engine swap and out the 2UR-GSE V8 engine into my wife's 4runner. The V6 in it is anemic at best. With her Gobi roof rack onnit, it struggles going uphill at highway speeds due to wind resistance and the underpowered V6. Lexus V8s are stellar!!

I wonder how easy this engine is to source, if at all. If not maybe I can get a V8 from a highlander or sequoia to put in her 4runner. It just hit 100k trouble-free miles. I plan on doing a swap of some kind between 150k and 200k.

I like the GX550 V6 performance much more so than the previous GX460. The 460 felt like it couldn't get out of its own way, but I did prefer the side-swinging back door. That said, I've also not been part of the engine recall (yet?) so I understand the trepidation of the V35A-FTS.

I actually seriously prefer her 5th gen 4runner's hatchback-style lifting back door. It's in the way far less than side-swinging doors. But I dont care for the V6s in any variant, toyota or lexus, in an SUV. Give me an NA V8 and it arguably makes almost any normal/average non hypercar better than a V4, V6, inline4, inline6, rotary, boxer, turbo or supercharged, hybrid assist, etc etc. I just like a good old fashioned 8 cylinders with decent torque, linear power curve, and no frills.

Hot damn I love the LC so much for this reason alone, everything else is icing!! Makes me miss my 2016 SLK55 AMG terribly. Never shoulda sold that car!!!

Miss you Stormy!!
