Default First Post..2025 IS 500 owner

I looked at LC before buying my IS in february. Didn't want to spend the extra 40k at the time. No regrets about my purchase, Infared/white with everything. Paid $1500 under MSRP and the local dealer in San Diego paid for shipping from Iowa. It is a second car for me with only 800 miles. I have an Acura zdx EV. I bought it for all the obvious reasons , sounds incredible, especially since its broken in. I did know at the time 2025 would be the last run. While I dont expect it to go up in value, I do believe it will hold its value and want to leave it for my daughter who also is a bit car crazy as am I. Porsche, BMW, Mercedes since my 1976 ,911 turbo, let that one get away. I just turned 70.
My question to the group, and I do post on the IS 500 site here, I get nobody can predict the future, In your humble opinions, if I buy a 2026 LC ,and if it does turn out to be the last year, which car has a better shot at buyers paying collector car prices, if it is in the family for 5-10- 15 years or longer ,well cared for and with very low miles? Any other comments ,question would be very much appreciated. BTW..the infared is stunning, comments every time I take it out, however its the first red car i have ever owned, is not me, I'm leaned towards Nori . or possibly one of the two new colors.

Lc500.
But I wouldn’t buy one and hope it would be a collector item someday. Better invest your money elsewhere. Especially that LFR is on the horizon(I know not in the same price range, but it probably will not be at LFA level)
The IS500 is not unique enough and it’s not even a true F car. You can get a 350-Fsport and get 95% of the look and with little modification, you can make it look like an IS500. You can’t do that with an LC500.
Used GSF and RCF pricing is a good indication of what IS500 will be. And those cars are true F cars.

Two wonderful Lexus cars. IMHO the LC 500 is more unique and “special “. Lexus really invested considerable effort, time and capital developing this car. It is built in Lexus’ best factory (Motomachi) utilizing their best Takumi personnel and resources. There is a mindset and goal to build the best quality halo representation for this manufacturer.

As good as it is now I believe that the passage of time will be very kind to the legacy of this car and appreciation is going to consistently grow. It’s old school in the sense that so much attention is paid to the art of craftsmanship and pride in the finished product truly displaying very high quality. There honestly are not many cars being made like this in the current marke (Even those that are more expensive). The LC 500 is the epitome of Japanese commitment to high standard automobile design and assembly.

This is it,

Coming from a guy who owned 2014 Porsche 911 GTS which is sold now. The LC has virtues over the Porsche excluding Performance and rate of depreciation, but it beats Porsche in quality, reliability, dealer experience and cost of service. While I do regret selling my 911 since it has appreciated in value since 2019 but I am more happy and satisfied owning my 21 LC coupe with Dynamic Handling Package. It would have been perfect if I kept both.

There seems to be a distinct possibility that '26 will be the last year for the LC.....At least for the V8 gas version. There may be other versions.....hybrid, electric (gasp) but nothing........repeat.... nothing can or will replace the gas V8. As far as being collectible, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay. I watch Mecum and Barrett/ Jackson whenever I can but have never seen an LC.
