LC500 transmission fluid?
When did the dealership change yalls transmission fluid? I am looking through my service records and they were never changed? Just the rear diff fluid was changed.
Got some folks saying it was never supposed to be changed?

Car Care Nut recommends transmission oil change at certain miles depending on the type of fluid used (60K miles / 6 years for ATF type WS vs 30K miles / 3 years for ATF type T-IV). Everyone has opinion on this matter but I recommend to watch the video
I saw a YouTube video where someone changed it at 25K miles on new to his used LC500 since he didn't know how the previous owner treated the tranny. And I appreciate that action. I come from Honda world where I change transmission fluid with every engine oil change given the issues on the specific model. And I do not regret doing it.
I am thinking about changing differential and transmission fluid every 30K miles on the LC even though it is termed as lifetime. In my mind, lifetime is 100K for cars and my LC has to outlive that milestone so 30K miles is probably a happy path to go.

I bought the OBD fusion app and the add-ons just for the A/T Temp. I plan on doing it on my next oil change to change the A/T fluid and rear differential at the same time.
I feel like the demographic of this car don't even know how to change a flat tire...You get scolded for wanting to DIY anything.

One has to experience the satisfaction of successfully completing a DIY work in a car (or learning something from the failed attempt but eventually succeeding in the task). I used to take a 15+ year old car to dealer or mechanic for everything, and still had failures (such as not properly torqued oil drain bolt). Learnt a lot of DIY stuff with the current one and bought tools from the $ saved. DIY or get the job done by the dealer / mechanic is a personal choice. Nothing wrong with either choice. It is a ROI calculation based on time, money and effort.

. . . Well, working on it is even better. It feels similar to running your hands over the most gorgeous voluptuous woman, who also happens to be your wife. Those that are able, if you are letting some other guy do that to you wif. . .I mean LC500, don't. Working on this art piece is a great joy that is not to be missed if you are able.
actually, they are in love
