I've only been active (again) with CL for a few weeks. New to the LC group. I just wanted to share this rather sneaky part of the Lexus App that I found by chance. Apologies of this has been brought in the past.
They don't share this with your insurance if that's what you're wondering. There is a separate permission for that called insure connect, which I don't even see as an option on my LC, but it is an option on my sienna.
so i kept the drive pulse on and a few months ago, the service tech took my car for a "test" which i did not authorize. and the driver pulse app tracked his route and his overall driving characteristics. It was enough to get him disciplined, and an apology & free service was given to me.
I was not pleased. But thanks lexus for giving me such a valuable tool!

I just wonder how this app is calibrated for the LC...I had the drive pulse turned on for the first few months of ownership and kept getting notifications for fast accelerations, harsh braking and harsh cornering although I felt like I was driving the vehicle 'as intended' (I'm a 65 yr. old retired grandpa for God's sake). When the Lexus dealer couldn't tell me why or how the data was being used, I opted out.

I turned all the notification for that off, so it doesn't actually tell me unless I go look at the specific section for recent trips. It's interesting to see for me personally. I don't get any harsh braking but I do get the occasional harsh cornering and fast acceleration (even while in break in period, and I can count on one hand when I've deliberately accelerated fast!). It's very conservative in it's approach for how it measures what it considers to be out of bounds. Same is true in my minivan, and I sure as heck don't drive that thing with any kind of purpose of sport, but I still get hit with the occasional harsh cornering or fast acceleration as well.
I believe in the Sienna it's something like 6-7mph/second counts as "fast acceleration" or "harsh braking" and cornering events with lateral acceleration > 8mph is considered "harsh," but they also claim to use some G-force measuring parameters as well. I haven't been able to confirm that but I think their threshold is likely set around 0.3G and anything experienced greater than that is out of bounds.
