I got curious because I saw that the LC500 uses a 5.0L engine. I wondered if it was a Gen 3 Coyote or a modular Ford because I researched the motors and saw some similarities. For instance, the 2UR-GSE has a compression ratio of 12:1 just like the Gen 3, bore x stroke are similar, both are dual overhead cam and they both sound alike, but the main thing I'm hung up on is how the blocks look. They don't look all that similar at all. Once again I'm just curious. I've attempted to do research but I didn't get too far.
No, the Lexus/Toyota 5.0 has nothing to do with Ford thank goodness (Fix Or Repair Daily or some would argue First On Race Day ). I think they did collaborate with Yamaha to some extent which would be a good thing. Also, not to be a nitpicker, but the compression ratio of the Lexus 5.0 is actually 12.3:1, not 12:1.
