Hey Coral did you paint your brake calipers yellow yourself? They look great - can you please post some more pics from the side? That’s pretty much the only mod I was considering for my car besides the LC500h rear diff swap.

(Not mine) but going off the updated LC500/LC500 convertible allocation sheet, for MY2023, it looks like Toyota/Lexus only put a whopping total of four (maybe 1-2 more) Flare Yellow LC500s into production. One coupe/Two convertibles for MY2023 on those spreadsheets. I say maybe 1-2 more because my Flared Yellow (MY23) is not on the spreadsheet but I took delivery of it before the author started the spreadsheet and I’m not sure it was ever on the dealer’s site/listed. For MY24 I am only seeing two LC500 convertibles (one sold/one on route to Miami dealer hold).

No Hybrids built in MY23 and none so far in MY24 in Flare Yellow so that’s the true unicorn.

Thanks Silver - that’s great info. I found the following sales figures on the Longo Lexus site:

The Lexus LC 500 was first developed in 2017, and since then, the breakdown of sales is as follows:
  • In 2023 there has been 957 sold so far.
  • In 2022 there were 1,387 sold.
  • In 2021 there were 2,782 sold.
  • In 2020 there were 1,979 sold.
  • In 2019 there were 1,219 sold.
  • In 2018 there were 1,324 sold.
  • In 2017 there were 2,782 sold.
The Lexus brand itself sold a total of 304,476 luxury cars in the U.S. in 2021. Out of that number, fewer than 1% were Lexus LC 500 models.
Based on my non-scientific AutoTrader stats above showing less than 1% of LC’s for sale are in Flare Yellow coupled with your info and Longo’s sales figures, and knowing that there were 100 Inspiration Series Flare Yellow Coupes for 2019, I’m going to conservatively guesstimate that there are approximately 140 Flare Yellow Coupes and 32 Flare Yellow Convertibles running around.

Here’s my conservatively high guesstimate broken down, I assumed 1% of sales were Flare Yellow and also assumed there were more Verts than Coupes sold since the Vert came out for 2021:

2019 100 Coupes (all Inspiration Series)
2020 20 Coupes
2021 10 Coupes and 18 Verts
2022 6 Coupes and 8 Verts
2023 4 Coupes and 6 Verts
Total: 140 Coupes and 32 Verts = 172 of any kind

Note: My guesstimate will change when final 2023 production figures become available and with additional sales from 2024 - 202?

So what's really funny, as rare as they are, within the first few months of owning mine, I meet a friend for lunch and another Flare Yellow LC pulls into the parking lot of the sandwich place. Around the same time I show my friend go went "gaga" for the car and said he wanted one. I checked the Internet and the same dealer I bought mine from had a second identical 2019 IS Flare Yellow LC and I told him to go down and get it... Turns out he wasn't that serious about buying one.

The caliper is wrapped. It was already done when I bought the car about 2 years ago.
