I am in negotiations to buy a LC 500 convertible in Frisco, TX. For peace of mind I would like to get an opinion of someone to look at the car for door dings, scratches and such. It's at a dealership so access should be simple. It's in warranty, so mechanicals shouldn't need to be checked, Any input would be appreciated.

 

I highly doubt a mechanic is going to go look at a car onlY to verify it’s paint condition.

Best bet is asking someone from this forum to go check out the car for you if they live in Frisco, which is a DFW superb…then send them $100 gift card to a restaurant in their city.

The obvious question is: Why won’t the dealer take a bunch of pics for you….

 

I am no paint expert and certainly no mechanic. I do, however, live in a suburb adjacent to Frisco and would be happy to look at the car for you and take some pics. I don't know that what I would do would be considered a pre-purchase inspection, but I can give you my opinion on the condition of the paint and body.

 

Thanks for the offer, we did hire a PPI company to do the inspection. They have all the tools needed and for $285 it's cheap insurance.

 

How firm are you on the flare yellow? I have a dark blue '21 convertible for sale in Denver, short drive home through the mountains for you guys. 1/3rd the miles (under 7K) for $92K ($3K less). The whole car has paint protection film / ceramic coat, garage kept with no door dings.
