Default Lost my keys along with key fob.

Hello CL. Like the topic says, lost my keys and need a replacement. Don't have the original, it was the only one I had. Was hoping there would be someone here that could recommend me a site or any tips on what to do next. Hoping to get it done as cheap as possible to.

I can get a Fob from the person I bought the car from for 140 bucks, would still have to pay for the programming to get done. A local guy said he can get me the fob and programming done for 280 out the door. Is this the best I can hope for?

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the replies! So I go to that Sewell site and I'm not sure what I should be getting. This is my first key fob/smart key and I guess I'm not entirely sure how they work.

I understand I have to get it programmed. Do I actually need the smart key? Can I just buy the card key for 65 bucks or do I actually need to buy the key fob for 122? I'm going off this website http://is.sewellparts.com/accessorie...S250-2009.html that someone posted earlier.

Sorry for my ignorance this is just all new to me! Thanks in advance!

Technically you only need the fob part. The key is onloy ever used if your battery is dead and you need to get into the car. Of course it is in your best interest to get the physical metal key as well as the fob.

The fob has a computer chip that needs to be programmed to work with your car. It is essentially a computer key that transmits via a wireless signal.

Ok. So I actually do need the fob. So far the best price ive been quoted is 280 for the key AND programming. Seems like the programming is the most expensive and cost's 200 alone at some places.
