So thanks to Darrel at Sewell,

I managed to have my 2011 ISx50 Headlights replaced due to the paint bubbling problem.

There were rumors that the revised 2012 Headlights had a different color light output for the LED DRL.

Today, I would like to confirm that the rumors are in fact true to my astonishment (was a non believer lol),

Below are pictures showing the comparison between the 2011 and 2012 headlight.

Can you guess which headlight belongs to which year?







Please note that these images are unedited and straight from my crappy droid camera phone.

Confirmed color / light changes between the headlights are:

MY2011
- Flat Black Inner Paint
- No eye lashes
- Warm White DRL

MY2012 (older)
- Gloss Black Paint
- Eye lashes above the DRL / Projector
- Cool White DRL

MY2012 TSB Version - Present
- Gloss Black Paint (including behind / near the led strip / projector)
- Eye lashes above the DRL / Projector
- Cool White DRL

Just to clarify the above if I recall correctly.

The IS2012 lights, does have gloss black interior paint on the projector but not on the part where people were experiencing bubbling. The TSB lights it is one which has the full gloss black interior which resolves the bubbling issue.

New 2012's have the same headlights as the TSB, earlier ones didn't have the glossy finish. They all do now.

the cool blue LED's looks so much better imo.. almost like 6000K!

I got my 2011 headlights replaced due to bubbling. I have the new color led strip right? it looks the same LOL or maybe I just never noticed =\

 

Had Lexus order mine last week. Im getting them replaced Friday.

Awesome comparison, now I want the 2012. the left side is 2012? (just to make sure )

 

I had mine done yesterday. I was going to post a comparison but now I don't have to. I agree with Josh. I would also like to thank Jeff Lange for recommending I get the bottom F-Sport Grille, if I get the top. I had them done and they look AMAZING (I will post a photo tonight in Look What I Got Today).

You should have the newer led strip if they were replaced with the tsb ones.

No problem. Just wished i had a better camera to take higher quality photos.
