Default Subtle interior touches: Cheap and tacky or nicely done?

Not looking to start any arguments. Simply looking for IS owner's opinions, so let's keep it civilized.

With that said, with the addition of the 2009+ model year, the IS gained both some interior and exterior changes. Subtle, but they were changes.

The question I propose to you, is does the new center stack look cheaper and tacky or improved over the 06-08 IS?

Some of the changes to consider include:
- Chrome lining
- Green digital clock display (over 06-08 white)
- Black HVAC buttons vs silver/dark grey
- Center vents location/ material
- Sunroof/moonroof operation (dial vs button)
- Doorlock switches

06-08':

09+:

I feel like they both are different and unique in their own respective. The chrome on the updated interior looks nice though, but I still like my older style.

I think both look good, but the new vents look like they wouldn't have that loud cracking sound anymore

They sure do have that loud cracking sound - I have been to the dealer 10+ times now for rattles and cracking. The dash has been out - the rear deck has been out and the center console has been insulated. There is still some noise from the rear deck - but I give up.

I like the vents on the 09... On my IS, the gaps are too big and looks cheap.

Forgot to add... i like how the edges of the 06-08 has the edges flat (flush) with the surrounding dash.. I think it looks better than how the 09+ sits (raised/popped out). If the 09+ was flat like the previous design, I would say it was better.. but since its not, my vote goes to the old design.

my vote goes to the 09+ simply because the flat NAVI buttons look way more sleek than those little bumps on the previous years. thats just my 2 cents =)

You got that BLUE / WHITE dash tho.. so it makes up for everything =P

Haha, it's soooo subtle I doubt any non-IS fanatic would notice/care. That being said, I kinda like the older design better since it doesn't pop out, and I like the center vent design better for some reason (probably because it's what I'm used to).
