Hey guys I bought a 2012 ISF through a dealership a few years ago. The previous owner installed an ether net cable that comes out of the drivers side of the dashboard. I have no idea what it was used for and no I haven't connected it to a laptop. Please help.

 

Looks like a radar detector power wire.

 

That's a Valentine radar detector power wire. It's not an Ethernet RJ-45, it's a telephone RJ-11.

 

If you haven't already, I would check to see if it's attached to a connector that's plugged into the OBD port. Previous owner may have used it for a diagnostic gauge/tool or other device that utilizes the RJ11 cable as well.

 

That is more than likely a power cable for a radar detector. Probably ran it under the dash for aesthetics.
