I’m usually very careful when parking my IS-F to avoid scraping the front on the parking curb stop. A couple of weeks ago, in a rush to get to a doctor’s appt, I pulled in a little too far and cracked my undertray. I repaired the undertray and reinforced it on both sides. While at it, decided to add some thin aluminum strakes on the lower part of the front bumper. I sized them to be at the same height as the lowest part of the undertray. These are intended to be sacrificial, to scrape, bend/crumple and make noise if up against a high curb, easily replaced.
On my car, I have replaced almost all of the plastic clips on the bottom undertrays and screws that go into plastic with metal nut inserts and 6mm fasteners, so it was easy to securely mount the strakes at the front.
This is a very low tech solution, will see how it works. On my BRZ I installed a bumper cam which works well, but have not wanted to mess with
wiring up a bumper cam on the IS-F
