Would like to see something like this. I have never really trusted the pinch welds. Never had an issue but they always get beat up a bit no matter how careful you are.
I ordered a couple of different sizes of this style lift pad to see what works best for our cars. They seem to be the best option on the market for a permanent fix. It’ll make lifting my cars on my lift substantially easier, plus save my pinch welds when the cars go somewhere for service. My daily gets coated with oil every year before winter, and all my cars see the tire shop as needed. Regardless of the care I take, I noticed other shops don’t give a darn. They tear the pinch welds up on their lifts.

Thanks for sharing this product link. I had America's Tire install some tires on my rims years ago and they ruined my pinch welds, flattening the ones in front. I've just been using the slotted hockey puck to jack up my car ever since. Wish I had known something like those lift pads existed back then.
Mine are a bit mangled on my daily from tire shops and rust check. I’m going to straighten them as much as possible and install these. If I ever get access to equipment I’ll machine something even better, but these look like they will do long term.
For the record I would never use more than one item between my jack pad and lift points…
You can’t add like 2 pucks and something else.. It’s a recipe for slipping disaster as seen already..
If you ever need to raise lift point due to a lower car.. you drive up on wood correctly etc.
I think I will look into the pieces posted by @JT2MA71
Mine are still “OK” but not long ago made and error on the pinch weld on the LH rear.. careless mistake.

Same here. That’s why I think the 3 inch version will actually be better. I ordered the 3 inch and I think a 1.5 inch. I’ll post pics of both when received. My thinking is the 3 inch will drop low enough that you can get a lift arm or floor jack directly on it. Hopefully my lift arms are low enough to clear, but I doubt that will be a problem.
These pieces will eliminate a lot of “eyeing” and “lining it up” on a 2 post lift.

The "eyeing" can be a PITA, checking all four lift points. The set of aluminum adapters mentioned a few posts up look good, but there is not enough of a flat spot that rests on the pad. Looks to me that the car could rock back & fourth due to the curvature on the bottom of the adapter.

I have a couple of different lift pads for my 2post, and I think both would work. We will know for sure when I get them. I’d rather have something about double the length, though. That would provide more support to the chassis in all lift situations.
If I had my Bridgeport mill from way back I could solve this in a few hours...
That would be elegant. a couple of 1/2" square section steel tubes cut to length and installed with 1/4" bolts would also do the trick. MIG them on if you really want permanent. I don't like the length below the seam with these "bolt on" devices. Looks like they could fold the jackpoint pretty easily if they got side loaded at all.

I had the same concern, so I ordered these as well.
Dewhel Jack Pad Adapter Billet Anodized Black Alu...
These should make folding it over nearly impossible, but you don’t have the perk of the added height, so most will still need to use something such as a hockey puck.
Ooph. Amazon generic copies an original design and undersells by a fair margin?
Hope their Al billet certs are legit, but who knows if it matters for this application.
Not judging, just observing...tough choice for this day and age.
You can get the same thing from 35 - 99 dollars. I prefer original stuff, but it’s a block of aluminum. I’m not overly concerned, but let’s see what they look like in person.
Below are three products to solve this issue. I won’t cover the Figs piece, as we all use and love it. I’m just tired of not having a permanent attachment, so I bought two different sized Dewhel units.
The taller silver piece is for a 6th Gen Camaro. The smaller black piece is for a 5th Gen Camaro.
The channels in the figs and 6th Gen piece are the same width, at slightly over 5/16”. The channel in the black 5th Gen piece is wider, at just a hair under 7/16”. I really wish these came with narrower channels. I’d prefer to borderline compression fit them with some form of permanent epoxy, but that won’t happen with these pieces.
The channels in the Dewhel units are substantially deeper.
I need to move my garage heater before I test these in a car, so that is soon to come. I’m installing hardwood throughout my home, so everything is out of place it seems. Update soon.
Final note, the Dewhel units offer more contact patch, as they are around 1/2” longer.
My daily gets coated with oil every year before winter...
@Jwconeil For those of us on the rust-less Left Coast, what is this oil coating of which you speak? Is it cosmoline applied via aerosol? Sorry for sidetrack, genuinely curious.
