I learned in 1956 in Driver's Ed in High School. Car was a black 1955 Ford Customline with 3 on the tree. At the time I lived in Massachusetts and that state had two types of Drivers Licenses - An Automatic License which restricted drivers to cars with an auto and a non-restricted license for others able to drive both. My Dad had a green 1952 Oldsmobile with Hydramatic. I went for my drivers test in a neighbors 1948 green Plymouth, 3 speed column shift.
Would be fun. But, I don't think Ford offered a 5 speed transmission in the 60s.
