New to the Lexus forum. Moving away from BMW. I found a ISF for sale that is a Canadian version and I'm in the US. I'm not sure what the difference is other than the car displaying in kilometers instead of miles. It is a 2009 with 84,000 kilometers or 52250 miles. I registered on the Lexus site and I get nothing for service records because the car is Canadian. Carfax also shows no services history.

Does anyone know how to get the records for this car?

What are the differences in the Canadian version?

I also chatted with Lexus of US and they said US dealers may not even service the car.

I would probably take that VIN and ask a Lexus dealer. Might get the records that way if they are not showing on Carfax/Carproof.

I'm on the west coast and we don't use salt on the roads here, just some sand mixture, due to the minimal snow that we get but i have heard that Quebec and Ontario DO use salt on the roads and lots of it so i'd definitely recommend getting that checked out. That was my reason for not shopping for one out that way. Someone from out that way should be able to chime in a bit on this hopefully.

Lexus USA said they don't have access to the Canadian records. I thought it was all one company but I guess not.

Really just looking for the service records. I guess I could try Canada corporate Lexus

The cars shows it was from Quebec so I assume it has seen salt.

Probably not going to get this one and stick with a southern car. But if I have to go to Vegas or something that will work too.

TIS says it is a 2009 model produced 8/08, first date of service is 8/09. All service campaigns completed at either Lexus Laval or Lexus Boulevard, so it is Quebequois for sure.

I wouldn't write off Canada as a whole as the pricing will work in your favor. Might have to stay away from Quebec and Alberta and look towards Vancouver, BC if anything pops up.

I wouldn't categorically dismiss a car from the salt regions. This particular one seems to be relatively low mileage which could mean that it might not have been driven much in winter (hence salt conditions). Even cars driven in winter can be in exceptionally good shape if well taken care of. I for one get my cars oil sprayed, and I wash them religiously during the winter to keep the salt off. My '98 GS400 with 460K km has got 21 winters under its belt and still has very little rust...

Looking at a cars undercarriage can give a pretty good indication of how well it has been taken car of.

I have a Canadian car that I got from Toronto. No rust. I think I probably drove it through more salt in Virginia than the prior drivers did in Canada.

IMO these are more of a unicorn because the production #'s are so limited for the Canadian ones. They also came with front windshield heater but not sure if that was stock or an option.
