Just the bottom half of my list alone IMO is worth a 10k$ difference in the car
At a dealership, yes. These cars aren’t as expensive to fix as people think when doing the work yourself or a trusted smaller mechanic.

I would normally agree with you whole heartedly - but after the thread of 'fake' spark plugs from amazon causing premature engine problems I really do place higher value on the Toyota/Lexus supply chain

With that being said - most of my work was done by a master toyota mechanic - also an IS-F owner. He does most of the header installs on the F-group in Houston.

Exactly. We have a great Lexus indy that works on our Lexus vehicles so I'm not worried. Here's the other thing that I'll bring up to OP since I've been looking at these cars for a while as well. First off, we're all aware of the valley plate issue so I probably wouldn't purchase one unless there is proof of that being done. The other thing is there's nothing saying you can't find a good '08 now and move up later to a '10+ later. We did that with our '02 SC430. At first we wanted an '06+ but didn't want to pay the $5-6k premium. We just wanted to enjoy the car. Guess what? After a year and a half we love our '02 SC430. It suits our needs just fine. So don't think your choices are limited to either or.
